After its great success in an underwater diamond mining application at De Beers Marin, now OneproD MVX goes to a coal mining application, underground!
Eickhoff design and manufactures Continuous Miners (CM) for underground coal mining. The machines operate continuously under extremely harsh operating conditions. Additionally, the machine and all its electrical and electronic systems are rated to ATEX Zone 0 to comply with the explosive environment requirements in coal mines.
The reliable operation of the CM machines is of paramount importance to the financial success of the process. For such harsh and critical operation, the rugged OneproD MVX and OneproD XPR were selected to monitor key components on the machine and provide feedback to the operators as well as to a remote analysis centre. OneproD MVX is placed in a specially designed enclosure and then certified to ATEX Zone 0 to comply with the environmental requirements. The ruggedness and versatility of the OneproD MVX makes it ideal for such demanding applications.
